Sketch Break

I have been so busy at the computer in my web design class that I thought I forgot how to work with live, hands-on pen and watercolor. So I went to Jonas Green Park this past Sunday overlooking the Severn River and tried my weary self on a quick sketch. Not great, but at least my hands still work!

Longing for the Beach

Today I was feeling wistful - I miss the beach! Here are two watercolors I did awhile back using the Outer Banks as subject matter. I'm afraid I don't know very much yet about how best to scan my paintings for optimum viewing on the web, but I did my best - I used Photoshop to help with the contrast. I tend to paint with a light touch. I love landscapes the best!

Can't believe we were in California over three months ago! Now its winter and I'm back at school in a Web Design class. No vacation photos to post, but here are some cute photos of our cats. I'm ready for another vacation - preferably to a warmer climate! On top is Sheba;

Coming Home

We are heading home via Southwest Airlines on Monday, 10.22.07. Our plane lands at 8 p.m. This has been a great trip, one we'll be sure to think fondly of for a long time. Coronado Beach - Farewell

Mr. Plum relaxes in the balmy breeze (with us nearby, of course). The view of the Pacific Ocean was slightly obscured by smoke from this far away because of wind-driven wild fires from north of San Diego. We all enjoyed it anyway. I could live here, for sure... The water was very cold, but your feet got used to it quickly.
