Day 29 - Just being silly

I'm sending this little painting to a friend as a postcard. She will understand! I'm at the beach, so it's appropriate.

Day 17 - Just a Sketch

Chapel Garden
5 x 7"
Ink & Watercolor

I had a moment to sit in front of the Naval Academy Chapel in the lovely yard overlooking the Severn River. I wish I could really draw and paint what I see. Didn't have time for all that, but a quick sketch was nice in that setting.

Day 5 - Tried an Abstract

No Title
6 x 8
Acrylic
I am trying to stretch myself by attempting more abstract paintings. I hope to do more of them. It's nice to have the freedom to just "go with the flow" instead of trying to paint realistically.

Day 4 - Happy Gulls

Happy Gulls
6 x 8
Acrylic and Ink

Barely made it for this one. Why is it so hard to create a little piece of art every day?

Day 3 - Beach Sketch

Beach Sketch
4 x 6"
Faber Castell Pitt Pens

Just a quick sketch from my imagination today. Not much time to really put forth a big effort. I like it, though. Sometimes quick and easy is best for creativity!

Day 2 - Moon Glow

Moon Glow
5 x 7
Watercolor

I felt like painting the moon, since we just had a Super Moon a few days ago. I used a spatter of masking fluid to get the effect of the stars.

Day 1 - 30 Paintings in 30 Days - Trying this again!

"In Him There is No Darkness at All"
Watercolor
5 x 7 inches

So, here we go again. I have signed up to do the 30-day challenge for September. I didn't finish the January challenge. Hope I can stick with it this time! My theme for this month's challenge is anything "Sky" related. That's to give me somewhere to focus my ideas on, but I can change that - it's not a hard rule. This little painting reminds me of my present struggle. I feel surrounded by darkness, but the light is trying to break through. I put my trust in Him to pull me out of the darkness. I John 1:5 -"God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."  http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/
