New Orleans
I didn't think I'd get back to this so late! We're already home. We didn't have a lot of time to find the Internet at the Navy Lodge where we stayed. We did the usual touristy things: a tour of the city by bus; a long ride on the streetcar; a walk through the French Quarter on Bourbon St. (I got a short-lived shock to my naive little self!) And we ate some beignet's at Cafe DuMonde on Jackson Square. We attended Bret's 25th college reunion at Tulane one evening. I brought home an unwanted souvenir - I got a sore throat and cough while there. I think my sinuses were overwhelmed by the various active pollens in the air. I guess Spanish Moss and live oaks are not healthy for me! But I enjoyed visiting there.

Another Train Trip
Another October; different train trip. This time we headed South.
This was the view of our sunset as we crossed over Lake Pontchartrain by train this evening heading into New Orleans. We left DC yesterday afternoon. We will be here until Oct. 6th. It sure is difficult to get good pictures through the dirty train windows, but this one turned out reasonably well.

Time to Let Go?

Our dear Tabitha is nearing the end of her kitty life. I see her struggling and getting weaker and know its time to let her go. I'm not ready, though. I wonder what she wants to do? It's her life. She seems happy at the moment, sleeping on the porch and periodically watching birds. Right now we are taking care of her as best as we can, waiting and praying for our little friend of 15 years. She's a sweet one!
